2019 Jaguar I-Pace

The E-Pace and the i-Pace are built on the same assembly line. There are two completely separate body shops (i-Pace is 95% aluminum vs E-Pace).

This pure electric performance SUV uses “synchronous rare-earth permanent magnet motors. Independent front and rear motors are controlled independently.

Aluminum suspension similar to E-Pace also wades onto water of 50mm deep. A more rigid construction and a 50/50 weight balance.

Aerodynamically the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace controls the air flow for optimum cooling including a flushing rear wing. The design results in a more muscular looking vehicle too.

Single pedal driving can be used in high regenerative braking mode.

Charging:
Battery: 90kWh, 432 pouches with energy from nickel, cobalt-manganese chemistry.

Use your smart phone to charge and even preheat the car while plugged in. A smart heat pump can scavenge energy for the battery. Many techniques are used to extend the range of the battery.

More interior space from lengthening the wheelbase. More front and rear legroom. Standard panoramic sunroof. Storage is maximized in doors and center console. More storage in back with fold rear seats. Smaller storage underneath the hood. For charging devices there are 3 12-volt sockets, 6-USB ports and a 4G hotspot.

Technology: Jaguar Incontrol features touch and voice controls look like an advanced flight deck. The interface has two hi-def screens that are customizable. Head up display and controls in front of the driver are customizable.

Audio: Active sound design adjusts interior sound to enhance the driving experience.

Smart phone technology is connected to an Alexa device give you more convenient features. EV navigation manages charging and charging details. The car takes up to 2 weeks to learn your preferences.

Smart safety technology with camera and radar systems. Semi- autonomous cruise control responds to traffic and pedestrians.

Scheduled maintenance and road service assistance is included.

Driving Modes of the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace: Comfort, eco and dynamic choices. A creep mode is great for low speeds in traffic.

Driving Impressions:
Performance is impressive, great braking and handling. Although this is not a track car, the full experience is realized on a track. The pace performance like a Jaguar.
