In this edition of Car Coach, YNN’s Lauren Fix takes a look at the 2014 Toyota 4Runner. The 4Runner has a new face, both inside and out. It’s got great capabilities, off road abilities and a great interior with a new sound system. Let’s take a closer look.

The 2014 Toyota ForeRunner earns 17 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. With a 4.0 liter V6 engine with 270 horsepower teamed with a 5 speed automatic transmission is offered in 4×2 or 4×4 versions. Prices start at $32,820.

We test drove the full line up of the 2014 Toyota 4Runner. The redesigned SUV received a rugged new exterior design, and interior refinements that add comfort and convenience without sacrificing performance capability and excellent value. Both the SR5 and Trail grade add standard Soft Touch door trim, and a leather wrapped steering wheel and leather shift knob. Optional third row seats on SR5 and Limited allow for up to 7 passengers and rides on 17 inch alloy wheels, while the Limited offers 20 inch alloy wheels.

Standard features include a backup camera, navigation, Entune Audio Plus, which includes Toyota’s multimedia system with 8 speakers, Satellite Radio, USB port with iPod connectivity and Bluetooth.

Competes with:

•Chevrolet Traverse
•Jeep Grand Cherokee
•Honda Pilot
•Nissan XTerra

The 2014 Toyota 4Runner offers impressive on and off road capability, a strong engine, an improved interior and plenty of cargo space.

Remember, when shopping for a new car, test drive as many vehicles as you can in that class before making your final decision.
