The Genesis can come with either a 333-hp, 3.8-liter V6; a 385-hp, 4.6-liter V8; or a 429-hp, 5.0-liter V8. All available engine options send power to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission that features manual sequential shift capability. Mechanical safety features include traction control, stability control, and panic brake assist. The interior features a full complement of airbags, electronic active front headrests that provide whiplash protection, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Luxurious leather seats, automatic dual-zone climate control and wood grain trim are just a few of the features found in the Genesis that are typical of much more expensive vehicles.
My test vehicle had 18″ Hyper alloy wheels with Michelin tires; an amazing technology package including Lexicon 17-speaker, 7.1 Discrete Audio system; Ultimate Navigation with 8″ display; smart cruise control; Lane Departure Warning system; HID Xenon adaptive cornering lights; premium leather, air conditioned and heated seats; power rear sunshade and rearview camera.
