The 2012 Subaru Impreza isn’t the best looking or fastest affordable small car on the market. However, with its standard all-wheel drive, comfortable seats, and roomy cargo area, this model is much more practical and stylish than the previous Impreza.

The 2012 Impreza has a new engine with plenty of power and standard all-wheel drive to help equip the Impreza with good cornering abilities and a solid, planted feel. But the best thing about the Impreza’s updated powertrain is its fuel economy.

The 2012 Subaru Impreza’s practicality continues inside with roomy front and rear seats, useful interior cubbies, and good cargo space. The Impreza also has excellent crash test ratings. Those ratings, plus its spacious and useful interior, make the Impreza a strong choice for families looking for a compact car.

Competes with:
•Honda Civic
•Hyundai Elantra
•Volkswagen Golf
•Chevrolet Cruze
•Kia Forte
•Toyota Corolla
•Ford Focus
•Mazda Mazda3
•Nissan Sentra

Likes:
•Excellent handling
•Good fuel economy
•Standard all-wheel drive
•High-quality and spacious interior
•Spacious seats and good cargo space

Dislikes:
•Could be more powerful
•Some cheap interior plastics
•Unimpressive sound system

The new 2012 Subaru Impreza is big on fuel economy and safety with a great all-wheel drive system. Also check out the wickedly quick WRX and STI models.

Remember, when shopping for a new car, test drive as many vehicles as you can in the class you are looking in to make sure you find the car that is best for you.
