The 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD is the complete package, full of everything you could want or need. Lauren Fix, the Car Coach, brings you a closer look.

Model – 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD
MPG – 22/30 25 mpg combined
Engine – 2.4L engine with 185 hp riding on 17-inch alloy wheels
Transmissions: 5-speed automatic
Price – starts at $29,995

This car is completely redesigned for 2012. It has more standard features, better fuel economy ratings, an updated power train and better storage than before.

The CR-V has real-time All-Wheel Drive and our test vehicle was so well loaded with standard features that there were no options added or needed. Navigation is standard on this model (optional on other models) as well as rearview camera, Pandora Internet radio interface, Bluetooth and voice text messaging, which functioned as promised.

The interior cabin is one of the most spacious and comfortable in the class, and has an impressively large, easy-to-load and easy-to-organize cargo area. The new center console stretches from the back of the front seats to the dashboard.

The CR-V has a lot of changes both inside and out. Not only does it have a redesigned exterior, but also the engine received mechanical updates to increase horsepower and fuel economy ratings. The transmission is still a five-speed automatic.

Competes with:
•Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring
•Toyota RAV4 EV
•Kia Sorrento EX
•Acura RDX
•Ford Escape
•Nissan Murano

•Lots of room for passengers and cargo
•Plenty of hi-tech and family-friendly features
•Easy to drive

•Acceleration is a little slow from a start
•Needs a power liftgate

This car is an affordable SUV that offers plenty of car for the money, flexible storage and makes a great family vehicle.
